Mother Saigon

Thu, Oct 19, 2023
    Part of
  • BAM Film 2023
  • and
  • New York LGBTQ+ Film Festival
Directed by Khoa Lê

In the Vietnamese metropolis of Saigon, family culture carries on as it has for centuries, even when blood ties are severed. Mother Saigon intimately explores the timeless human yearning for love, acceptance, connection, and a sense of belonging—all seen through the prism of LGBTQ+ experiences.

Directed by the talented Khoa Lê, this stunning documentary serves as a love letter and heartfelt tribute, a bittersweet ode to a comforting yet disturbing mother and to a city as liberating as it is oppressive.
