“I never said to myself: ‘I’m going to make a film about old age’. In fact, I never look for the subject of a film.” —Pierre Creton

Legendary French actress Françoise Lebrun regularly comes to the Maniquerville gerontology center to read Proust’s In Search of Lost Time to the residents. The trick here is the way in which the residents of the facility are, in some ways, listening to their very own lives being narrated to them, painting the very concept of a facility for elders as a true Proustian dwelling.
