Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The first film adaptation of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s four anthropomorphic comic book characters, TMNT sends the lovable heroes on a quest to save Splinter. With turtle costumes by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, the 1990 adaptation employs a combination of puppetry and set design to convey the cartoonish NYC of its ninjutsu-trained brothers. When the Turtles’ reporter pal April exits Manhattan’s City Hall, a keen viewer could note that she actually descends into the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station.
