National Theatre Live: Dear England

July 15 & 22
    Part of
  • BAM Film 2026
Directed by Rupert Goold & Christine Lalla (2024)
With Joseph Fiennes, Josh Barrow, Tashinga Bepete, Bill Caple
Part love letter to the beautiful game, part biographical retelling, writer James Graham’s play Dear England follows the trajectory of manager Gareth Southgate and his attempted resurrection of the historically underperforming English national football team through three pivotal tournaments: the 2018 World Cup, UEFA Euro 2020, and the 2022 World Cup. Nominated for nine Olivier awards upon its 2024 run (including Best New Play for Graham), the National Theatre’s screening of the football stage sensation arrives on BAM screens for a select engagement.

Presented as part of a multi-year partnership with BAM and National Theatre. Bringing the National Theatre to New York—on stage, on screen, and in the classroom.
