Fisher Takeovers

Some ideas are just too big to contain on a single stage. That’s why BAM is excited to introduce Fisher Takeovers, a series of unbounded multi-disciplinary house parties at the BAM Fisher (321 Ashland Pl). Each takeover is curated by independent artists and organizations from BAM’s extended cultural community, presenting works throughout the building’s four floors for an entire afternoon or evening.

• In Realismo Magico, Miami-born, Brooklyn-based artist José Parlá and friends welcome audiences into a multidimensional world where the mystical and sensual seamlessly merge with Latin American historical narratives, in February.
  
  

• On the Shoulders of…: Hold Up Who Holds You Up in April will be a day of intergenerational artistry co-curated by young people and teaching artists who hail from  BAM’s Education programs, centering the legacy of community, collective creation, and care through visual art, dance, music, and poetry.
  
  

• The eagerly anticipated return of Everybooty offers a multi-genre, all-gender celebration of queer culture for Pride Month in June.

With four floors of provocative, celebratory experiences to see, hear, and participate in, these creatively ambitious presentations are meant to maximize the building’s unique spaces. Take the plunge in an artistic immersion!
