Once labeled the "the most dangerous Negro ... in this Nation” by FBI Deputy Director William Sullivan for his radical beliefs and committed actions towards equity and social justice, today the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is heralded as one of this country's most important freedom fighters. For the 41st year, join BAM for a cherished Brooklyn tradition in our annual celebration of Dr. King: a brilliant strategist, gifted orator, and champion of working class, poor, and disenfranchised people. Come together for a community celebration with friends, neighbors, artists, and civic leaders in a day of reflection, calls-to-action, family-friendly activities, and honoring all who carry Dr. King's vision forward. The largest and longest running public celebration of Dr. King in New York City is completely free and open to the public.
