
Now celebrating 20 years in cinemas, The Met: Live in HD is the Metropolitan Opera’s Peabody and Emmy Award–winning series of opera performances transmitted live from the stage of the Met in New York into movie theaters and event spaces worldwide. Highlights of the season ahead include the company premiere of Silent Night, the Pulitzer Prize-winning first opera by composer Kevin Puts (The Hours) with librettist Mark Campbell; a new production of Verdi’s riveting Macbeth pairing superstar soprano Lise Davidsen with charismatic baritone Quinn Kelsey, staged by rising star director Louisa Proske; and the first new Met production in more than 30 years of La Fanciulla del West, Puccini’s California Gold Rush drama, staged by celebrated British director Richard Jones. The rest of the season promises beloved classics featuring Met favorites like Nadine Sierra, Ailyn Pérez, Elīna Garanča, Brian Jagde, and Piotr Beczała.
